Lemme spell it out . . .

Wed Apr 2, 2008, 5:45 PM
I am currently in a bit of an awkward position, primarily when it comes to correspondence via DA. For a few months now - straight - I've made it plain that I can't/won't do Q&A via the comments. And yet 90% of what I get are questions. When I say I'm responding through the forums, I get hopeful correspondence in the comments.

So what am I to do in this situation? If I reply and I answer everything passed before me, then I'm doubling up my workload again. If I ignore the stuff I said I'd ignore, folks feel slighted. Responding to those who don't ignore my requests makes me look selective.

I'm focusing all communication through the forum for reasons I've detailed in the past. So when I'm still asked questions and folks try to contact me through the comments, it tells me they're not reading the journal. If they are, they're ignoring my efforts to make things a little easier for everyone, or simply don't care. This is the internet, people. Most of what we do here is read. So if you're not reading what I say initially, why should I think you'd read anything else of mine?

I'm sorry if this comes across as bitter, but it puts me in a no-win situation - especially since there's some very nice folks who only want to say "hi" and don't deserve this earful. For that small number of you: I'm sorry you had to see this.

So I guess the only thing I can do is eliminate the middle ground. If you need/want to contact me, there's the DevNotes and my forum. Otherwise, I'm not even looking at the comments anymore.

And while I'm in a good ol' fashioned griping mood, I've been on the fence about emptying the gallery. Aside from maybe a handful of things, there's nothing I really enjoy looking back on and I don't foresee myself adding to it any time soon. If you see something you like, download it. I might just go through and clean house one of these days.

DA-inspired bitterness aside, things are good. The wedding looms and I sympathize with the proverbial deer in the headlights.

Bah, enough of me. Go give love to :iconkureejiilea: She's the talented artist between us and deserves more recognition. Go. Now. Recognize.

Dude, if you told us, you told us. Anyone that can't accept you're a busy man is delusional.
That has to be frustraiting. This is an art/literature site, not a Q & A "fan-mail" blog...

When I'm online, I try to remember that I'm involved with different communities... sure some of them might cross paths here on dA but for the most part what gets discussed in those forums, stays in those forums. Which is where it should be.

Isn't nice to be popular? ;p

All joking aside...yeah, I can totally see where you're coming from on that. That'd frustrait me too. :worry:

Good luck with all the RL stuff. Sounds like you're taking quite the leap. Congrats! ^_^

It's understood how busy you are, so i just sit back and let everyone else ask the questions, lol. Nah, Iwouldn't have anything to ask, I'm just happy with what you give us! Most of that is your time, and thats way more valuable than anything else.
But i need my Scourge/Big/Eggman love triangle question answered NOW!

*realises what he just typed and merrilly loses breakfast*

Hopefully people'll catch on at this point. :XD: I actually think you've been pretty good about it all, considering how long you've made it pretty crystal that those sorts of questions need to be fielded elsewhere.

Wait, you're busy? I find that hard to believe.
Damn, that was a question!
In all seriousness, though, my bitter foe, I sympathize with you. Much as it pains me. Keep on trucking.
Also, your lady fair is a living saint to be marrying you. Make sure she knows that. :)
that is 1 of the problems wiv being well known for summat; ppl just dont no when to leave ya alone.

i think 1 of the reasons ppl keep buggin u is that theyr not part of the forum for particular reasons. that or theyr complete jackasses who cant read.

nd plz dont clear out ur artwork. im gettin kinda sick of artists i like turning around nd takin all their artwrk off before leavin
